Finally from Axom,

Yes at last there is a girl from Axom to our institute. It's been six years or so for a female to be coming from Axom. She's a pretty and cute little girl. So what's the ground situation now?? Well many including my technical son Nayan has fallen for her. Yesterday Nayan went to meet her, all dressed up & shaved properly {guys from Axom normally do not have to shave; they grow very less beard/moustache}. No that coward didn’t go alone but was taking everyone with him to GH {girl’s hostel}. Finally Jamatia, Arindam & Nava accompanied him. Jamatia was the middle man, he’s got it seems good paowaa in GH. Caution here, I believe Jamatia is also in the QUEUE. He’s being backed by his technical grandfather Romeo.Romeo is also charmed by the little princess. So friends do something if you have something in mind before Romeo comes back for the convocation.

There’s always dearth of females in engineering colleges. Add to that, the Casanova guys would handle quite a few too many and others would be left with no options. So the ratio is really against the boys and you’ll have to give it to the guy who wins the race. On the other hand the girls have got a huge lot to choose from.

I’ll tell you the girls in our institute have a real good time. They will pick a guy, then a sweet talk follows & there you get a hypnotized guy working under the spell of the charming lady. She will take him anywhere she goes and virtually that guy is an escort. If she feels hungry, our hypnotized friend would take her to any of the restaurants of Jamshedpur and will offer her all the delicacies available. If that is not enough the charming lady would compel our unfortunate friend to pack things to take back for the other charming ladies in hostel. One point of time when she gets bored, all she to has to do is go to STEP one; select a guy and start all over again with a sweet smile….

There’s another phenomena in our college, as observed by my keep-distance-from-gurls attitude friend Dion. According to him all guys after coming to final year, see good things in all the girls of the college. They might be cursing every other girl in the first three years but then they start to see them from a different point of view. Even our dear friend Samik {he’s got a duur-se-hi-acchi-lagti-hai attitude}, he’s fallen to this syndrome.

Guys you need not worry, once you all get out of this college in another 8-9 months you will get better choices. To the charming gals I will say have some sympathy on your boyfriend’s wallet. For me well I am still looking for the perfect one..

Old wine in a new bottle..

Few days ago I saw the movie “Lagey Raho Munabhai”. The review it got from today’s yippy youngsters is very encouraging. When it seemed like everybody has forgottten the Gandhian principles, suddenly all are talking of “Gandhigiri” instead of “Gundagiri”. This clearly indicates that if you want to influence today’s youth, you have to talk their language.

Everything evolves with time. You will find every few months the software package you are using has been upgraded, but the core remains the same. Take the case with the principles of the great Indian leaders of the yesteryears. Their philosophy is losing significance now-a-days. Why not??? They are not applicable in present day context. Take for example Gandhi’s AHIMSA path. Do you think if we follow a path of AHIMSA terrorism will come to an end?? Will Osama Bin Laden surrender if Bush stops violence and goes on a world tour promoting AHIMSA?? I think that’s not practical.

But I believe you should look at the core of the philosophy of the yesteryears leaders. A little bit of modification of their philosophy and you can apply them in preset day context. What Gandhian principles signify is sincerity, honesty, selfless service. So if Bush becomes more sincere and honest to resolve world affairs, then this planet will become rid of the term terrorism. Bush’s greed to capture oil fields of Arab and strategic territory for military prowess has given rise to “discontent” among people hence the rise of Osama and likes result.

“Lagey Raho Munnabhai” tries to present the ideas of Gandhiji in a comical sense, otherwise the movie would not have been a commercial success. It has succeeded in getting “Gandhigiri” inside the heads of the dudes and duddess. “Rang De Basanti” was another commercial movie that captured the minds of the youngsters. It also emphasized the philosophy of Bhagat Singh & co. to bring about a change, not just sit idle for things to happen. More of these kind of movies should come out to awaken today’s youth.

Phoenix in yet another palindrome

Sure the topic will be sounding incoherent to you. Now what is a PHOENIX? It’s a mythical bird that rishes from ashes signifying revival after destruction. A PALINDROME is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units (such as a strand of DNA) that has the property of reading the same in either direction (the adjustment of punctuation and spaces between words is generally permitted).
But what is the relation between these two? Actually myself(the phoenix) is trying to come back to my normal daily life after the 9/10 AAGNIKAND. Yes my room 202 of Hostel Visvesvaraya caught fire around 0100 hours on 9th September ie last Sunday. The cause of the fire is not known for sure but I think it started from the old emergency light of mine or short circuit might have caused the table lamp that was ON to catch fire.

When the fire started we, the TOPFLOORERs, were playing
dumbcharades as the power had gone due to some phase problem. We were getting the smell of smoke but could not figure what was causing it or thought it was the regular smoke from the Adityapur small-scale industries. So we continued with our game and only when the smoke became dense,we thought something was really on fire. So we started waking up the fellow hosteliers and told them to vacate the hostel. I was bringing out people from my lobby then Deepesh, my diagonal neighbour, pointed out that the smoke was coming out from my room. I slowly opened the door so as not to feed the smoke with supply of air. By then Vipul, Vivin and Manish also arrived. Together we put off the fire. For extinguishing the fire we used water, that was a foolish idea but really people loose their common sense in crisis time. Anyways we had put OFF the main switch and the water was poured over the burning mass, not on the electrical circuit.

Thanks to god, the damage was minimal. Loss of property includes a mobile charger. two emergency lights, cosmetics and magazines/newspapers. I have shifted my room to the ground floor in 131. The previous room 202 now bears a haunted look and that is frightening my ex-neighbour Aditya. He’s a real coward.
Now coming to the Palindrome link. Till now in this college I have had three rooms namely A/111, E/202 and E/131. The three room numbers are a Palindrome;111, 202 and 131. There’s one more fact about these three numbers. The sum of digits is increasing by 1 from 3 to 4 & then to 5.
This post comes direct from my new room and LIFE continues from here…
